Join The PHOTON GAMES at the University of Central Florida in Orlando on June 12-15, 2019.  We invite teams of students from around the world, wherever there is interest in optics and photonics.  Teams can form out of physics departments, electrical and computer engineering colleges, or even high schools.

The competition is open to high school (ages 14 and up),  undergraduate, and graduate students.

The Photon Games Events

  1. Teams build an optical printer that is assembled on site to produce a key that can open a lock of given specifications.
  2. Teams build a device that enhances their cell phone camera.
  3. Teams present a poster and lesson plan based on the cell phone camera enhancement.
  4. Teams create an artistic time lapse photograph using items such as flashlights, lasers, or other light emitting sources.

  6. Teams compete in an optics experiment, the content of which will remain a mystery up until the start of the event on-site
  7. Teams compete in Iron Scientists – Optics Style. (This is like Iron Chef!)
